Appreciating Gambling Jargons

A gambler has developed a skill in giving his all-out confidence in a bet. Trusting one's bet means trusting oneself as well as the knowledge that one has of the game that he is playing. To prepare one in a gambling match, here are the following gambling jargons to practice on.

Action- Action refers to the money that one has decided to risk by putting it as a bet. When in used in a poker game, action refers to the money that one wants to include into the pot.

Banker- The banker in card game is the one who deals the playing cards or books all the actions of the players.

Bankroll- A player should always be updated with his bankroll as this refers to the amount of his remaining gambling money.

Boat- A boat also refers to the term, full house.

Burn card- In card games, the burn card is the one which has to be excluded temporarily in a game.

Caller- In Bingo, the caller is the one who facilitates the Bingo game. He is tasked to choose a certain card pattern and announce the winning set of Bingo numbers.

Casino advantage- This simply means that the house has an advantage over the casino players.

Check- Casino gamblers refer the chip as a check.

Cut- This refers to the action that the dealer does when he separates the deck into two parts after shuffling it.

Dauber- A dauber is a marker used in by Bingo players to mark off the numbers on their game cards which have been announced by the caller.

Face Cards- In Black Jack, the face cards refer to the Jacks, Queens and Kings. The face cards have a value of 10.

Face Down- When Black Jack players choose face down, their first card faces up while their second card is down.

In the Chips- This is the favorite term of poker players as this phrase means that they are already winning.

Large- Large refers to $1000 in poker. So, when someone lost 6 large, it means he lost $6000.

Parlay- Parlay means that the player wants to increase his bet by the amount that he won in his previous Black Jack game.

Rained out- This phrase generally means that the gambling match is cancelled due to unfavorable weather condition.

Raiser- In poker, this term refers to the one who decides to increase his bets.

Tall Pot- In Poker, the tall pot means the big stack of chips that remains to be claimed by an undetermined winner.
